Geno Delafose Fan Appreciation Parties

Geno Delafose and
French Rockin' Boogie Band with Guest Musicians
|
Starting in 1997, Geno Delafose began holding annual
fan appreciation parties to offer his generous thanks to all of the people who have
supported him by going to dances when he plays, buying his CDs, or spreading the word
about his music. Up until 2000, the event was held at his Double D Ranch a few miles north
of Eunice. Geno would pull a flatbed trailer in front of his horse stables to serve as a
band stand. The event grew bigger each year, and, in 1999, the first party that is
depicted in these web pages, some 500 fans attended, along with a slew of guest musicians.

In 2000, when the initial weather forecast looked problematic, Geno
decided to move the event to the parvilion at the Northwest Community Center in Eunice.
The new location may have lacked some of the rural ambience of the Double D Ranch, but,
from a practical standpoint, it was more accessible for a crowd of some 600 people, and
the facility is specifically designed to accommodate dances and musical performances. In 2002, Hurricane Lili forced cancellation of the event. In 2003
and 2004, it was
scheduled to be held at the Double D, but heavy rain once again forced Geno to move the event to the Community Center pavilion. |
